Nueva Atacama (former Aguas Chañar) is the water treatment and distribution provider for several cities in the Atacama desert region of Chile. It manages production and distribution of drinking water and the collection, treatment, and final disposal of sewage. The system’s water piping networks run 859 kilometers, providing service to 96,000 clients, including some mining companies. In 2019, the Company produced and treated 26 million m³ of drinking water and sewage. The concession contract ends in 2034. Nueva Atacama is co-controlled by Toesca and Aguas Nuevas (Marubeni Corporation).
