Luz del Norte is a utility-scale solar photovoltaic power plant located 62 KM north of Copiapó, Chile. The plant can generate ~390 GWh per year of electricity, powering the equivalent of 174,000 homes and helping to displace 185,000 tons of CO2. It was built by First Solar and has been operating since 2015. The project has a Power Purchase Agreement with distribution companies, serving clean energy to end consumers throughout the country.
