Jorge Rodriguez

Dr. Rodriguez was appointed Deputy Secretary of the Treasury in 1992 and Deputy Secretary of Regional Development in 1994 under the government of Patricio Aylwin. In 1995, he was named chairman of the board of the electric company Guacolda, where he was subsequently appointed general manager. In 2001, he was named Minister of Economy, Mining, and Energy under the government of Ricardo Lagos. In 2017, he was again named Minister of Economy under the government of Michelle Bachelet. He has been a member of the boards of directors in various companies, including AES Gener, Alto Maipo, Costanera Group, Australis, Banco Estado, Consorcio, and EFE. Mr. Rodriguez holds a degree in Economics from Universidad de Chile and PhD in Economics from the University of Boston.
