Felipe Morandé

FELIPE MORANDÉ, a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Minnesota, is Toesca’s External Advisor and Managing Director for Europe and the Middle East as well as a consultant in public policies, finance and business topics. He also teaches Economics at the IE University in Madrid. From July 2018 to March 2022 Dr. Morandé was the Ambassador of Chile to the OECD, based in Paris. In 2010-11 he was Minister of Transport and Telecommunications of Chile. Dr. Morandé was Dean of the School of Economics and Business of the University of Chile between 2006 and 2010. Before he was Chief Economist of Chile’s Central Bank for five years, after serving as director of the ILADES/Georgetown University Graduate Program in Economics. Dr. Morandé was Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Houston in the 1980s. He has also been Invited Senior Scholar of the Center for Research of Economic Development and Policy Reform at Stanford University, first president of the Chilean Economic Society and member of Chile’s Council of Fiscal Advise.
