Hospital de Antofagasta

Luz del Norte

Luz del Norte is a utility-scale solar photovoltaic power plant located 62 KM north of Copiapó, Chile. The plant can generate ~390 GWh per year of electricity, powering the equivalent of 174,000 homes and helping to displace 185,000 tons of CO2. It was built by First Solar and has been operating since 2015. The project has a Power Purchase Agreement with distribution companies, serving clean energy to end consumers throughout the country.

Cóndor del Sol

Cóndor del Sol is a portfolio of solar photovoltaic assets ranging from 3MW to 9MW of nominal capacity, located near consumption centers from the Valparaiso region to the Biobío region. All assets comply with the PMGD (Pequeños Medios de Generación Distribuida) regulation, thus being able to self-dispatch and sell their clean energy to a stabilized tariff, fixed every 6 months by the CNE (Comisión Nacional de Energía). The portfolio is in the expansión phase and is expected to reach 17 projects, 120MW of installed capacity and, 250 GWh of yearly estimated generation, by the end of 2022.

Suralis

Suralis is the water utility for several cities in the Los Rios and Los Lagos region, in the south of Chile. It manages the production and distribution of drinking water and the collection, treatment and final disposal of sewage. The company provides services to more than 238,000 clients in more than 30 different locations. In 2020 Suralis produced more than 40 million m3 of drinking water and collected and treated more than 37 million m3 of wastewater. Most of the remaining ownership in the company is held by Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.

Cocharane Thermoelectric Plant

Cochrane Thermoelectric plant is a state-of-the-art generation complex with an installed capacity of 550 MW, a substation, a 153 km transmission line, and a 20 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) to support generation in the north of Chile. The thermoelectric plant uses pulverized coal technology, incorporating desulphurization, fabric filters, and selective catalytic reduction systems to control emissions of SO2, NOx, and particulate matter. The complex is positioned as one most efficient of its kind in the country, in terms of emissions per MWh produced. Cochrane started operations in 2016. The remaining ownership is shared between AES Gener, who operates the plant, and Daelim Energy.

Valle del Desierto

Valles del Desierto is a highway connecting the north-Chilean city of Vallenar with the popular beaches of Bahía Inglesa and Caldera. Its traffic is primarily related to the mining, agricultural, and tourism industries. The 221-kilometers of high-standard highway is operated and maintained via a concession contract, which has a variable term ending in 2043, at the latest. The operator has rights to receive a Minimum Guaranteed Income as a risk mitigation mechanism. Valles del Desierto is controlled by the Spanish company Sacyr.

Ruta de Algarrobo

Ruta de Algarrobo is a 187-kilometer highway concession in the north of Chile that connects the coastal city of La Serena and its port of Coquimbo to the northern city of Vallenar in the Atacama region. The concessionaire has two risk mitigation mechanisms: a variable concession term ending in 2047, at the latest, and rights to receive a Minimum Guaranteed Income. Ruta del Algarrobo is controlled by the Spanish company Sacyr.

Valle del Bio Bio

Valles del Bío Bío is located in the Bío Bío Region of Chile and connects the cities of Concepción and Cabrero. The Concepción area is the second-most populated in Chile and has strong forestry, livestock, and agricultural industries. The concession contract for the 103-kilometer highway was awarded for a maximum of 35 years with variable term. Valles del Bío Bío is controlled by the Spanish company Sacyr.

Hospital de Antofagasta

The Hospital of Antofagasta is the largest and most modern public hospital between Santiago, Chile and Lima, Peru. Inaugurated in 2017, it serves the city of Antofagasta (population 400,000) and the whole region of 1.5 million people. Its infrastructure consists of 3 main buildings of 123,118 m2, including 671 beds, 16 surgical rooms, and 85 exam rooms. The society Salud Siglo XXI administrates the concession contract that ends in 2032. Salud Siglo XXI is controlled by the Spanish company Sacyr.

El Tepual Airport

It is the busiest airport in southern Chile, serving as the main gateway to tourist-rich Patagonia and the rest of the region, boasting the second-largest salmon industry in the world. The concession involves the management of 16,000 m2 of facilities, including passenger services, retail space rentals, restaurants, and parking structures. The concession contract expires in 2024.

Rutas del Desierto es una carretera de dos tramos que conecta la ciudad turística de Iquique con el aeropuerto Diego Aracena hacia el sur bordeando la costa (Ruta 1), y la misma ciudad con el histórico sector minero de Humberstone (Ruta 16). La concesionaria opera y mantiene 78 km y cuenta con dos mecanismos de mitigación de riesgos: plazo variable de concesión con máximo en 2043, y derecho a percibir Ingreso Mínimo Garantizado. Rutas del Desierto es controlada por la empresa española Sacyr.

GasValpo

GasValpo is the second largest gas distribution company in Chile. It first began operations in 1853, in the city of Valparaiso, supplying gas for public lighting and homes. Currently, GasValpo distributes natural gas to more than 100,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers, through its 1,760 kilometers-long network. Its clients are located in several areas near Valparaíso; in the north, in La Serena, Coquimbo, and Los Andes city; and, in Talca, in the south of Chile. GasValpo is co-controlled by Toesca with Marubeni Corporation.

Nueva Atacama

Nueva Atacama (former Aguas Chañar) is the water treatment and distribution provider for several cities in the Atacama desert region of Chile. It manages production and distribution of drinking water and the collection, treatment, and final disposal of sewage. The system’s water piping networks run 859 kilometers, providing service to 96,000 clients, including some mining companies. In 2019, the Company produced and treated 26 million m3 of drinking water and sewage. The concession contract ends in 2034. Nueva Atacama is co-controlled by Toesca and Aguas Nuevas (Marubeni Corporation).
